I just got myself the Falcon Eyes FGA-SB2030W. It is a mini osftbox that can be mounted on any external flash for a DSLR and it works magic compared to your bare flash head or omnibounce that you paid to much for.

Joe McNally provided for a youtube movie showing of a trick how to hold a camera properly. Dispite that fact that the trick works best for left-eyed folks, some elements of his technique can be used for right-eyed folks as well.

On the 6th of May, Topaz released their new denoising software DeNoise 4. This is an interesting package, because this software uses a different denoise algorithm these most competitors (such as NoiseNinja, NeatImage, or Noiseware). I tried the new package, and although not always, it provides solid results. Best of all, though, is it can be good were other packages are weak.

This is promising - the new Sigma APO 70-200 F2.8 EX DG OS HSM is Sigma's latest fast telephoto lens. Sigma has been releasing these lenses for years, however, this time it is equipped with optical stabilisation. I was waiting for this update by Sigma for long. Why? Best of all, this lens also has Sigma's perfectly working HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), ensuring a quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focus override capability. I am packing for a two and a half week of touring the paradise of the tropics - Cuba. As usual, I want to take everything with me I basically have - including the biggest of my shoulder bags (photo backpack was no option because I already have a backpack for clothing etc). I was, however, not very happy with the thought of carrying around 15 kilo's of gear on my shoulder all the time. So I borrowed an old Lower-Pro Elite D bag from a friend and stuffed that with just the essentials. This trip is not a shoot, it is my holyday. Therefore, I want to travel light but still be able pull anything off if I want to. If you have any suggestions, please feel drop a line below

Moose Peterson and Joe McNally uploaded a short clip on www.digitallandscape.org (DLWS) that features Moose Peterson behind a Nikon D3S (I believe). The framerate of this machine is incredible at 9 - 11 frames per second. This is how leandscape shooting can be in the year 2009.

HP's B8550 13" printer was released exactly a year ago and is still getting increasingly popular under the enthusiast photographers amongst us. No without reason, it is a remarkable cheap little large format printer.
Here are my thoughts, and the ICC profiles (that I provide for, as HP has forgotten to distribute them with the Windows drivers - shame on you HP!).
